We currently produce 4 different types of hammocks, which covers most peoples common uses for them. My customers often use these products for their rats, however they can be used for any pocket pet, including mice, guinea pigs, rabbits and birds. I've even had people request hammocks and hides for their reptiles. They really are multipurpose!
1. Flat Hammock
This is the simplest hammock and many peoples favourite. It is lovely and airy, but also cosy for all climates. It can be made out of various combinations of fabrics, however the most common ones are cotton, flannelette and fleece.
It is quilted (which means the 2 layers are sewn together) which I find helps deter pets from chewing and making a tunnel between the layers.
Quality grommets are used for multi-purpose hanging options - clips, carabiners, hooks, whatever you choose!
2. Double Hammock
The double hammock combines a flat hammock with an extra level. It comes in the same variety of fabrics as the flat hammocks as well as the quilting of the layers to help deter tunnelling.
Your pet can choose a more exposed and open area, or a more sheltered area underneath. My rats personally loooove being on the bottom level.
3. Tunnel Hammock
Many of our pets love our tunnels! They come in the same variety of fabrics with the added quilting of the layers. Grommets on either end help you secure the tunnel in whatever position you please.
The openings on either end are held open with a 3d printed ring so your tunnel never collapses. This 3d printed ring is strong and durable and made from PLA plastic. Many of our pets love to chew, however even if chewed, most will not actually ingest any and even if they do the plastic wont harm them!
4. Cube Hammock
Cube hammocks are super cosy for winter and provide a secure resting spot for your pets. They come with the same quality fabrics as well as quilting of the layers for extra durability.
Instead of grommets, cube hammocks have tabs situated on each upper corner for attachment to your enclosure. Simply slip a ring, carabiner, hook or clip into the tabs for secure attachment.
What's your favourite hammock type? I have made many over the years and always come back to these 4 being the most popular. I think my favourite is this awesome little caravan I made as a personal project and I think my rats love it too!
Coming soon
I am currently re-testing my guinea pig hides to start re-introducing them once I am happy with the quality, so stay tuned for updates!
